First Austin 2009 AITP Meeting tonight at at Rudy's BBQ on 360 at 6pm

As many of you may already know I am Currently the President of the Austin Chapter of the Association of Information Technology Professionals. The Austin AITP is a professional association comprised of career minded individuals who seek to expand their potential -- employers, employees, managers, programmers, and many others. The organization seeks to provide avenues for all members to be teachers as well as students and to make contacts with other members in the IS field for professional development and personal growth.

Our first meeting of the year is Tonight Wednesday January the 14th at Rudy's BBQ on 360 at 6pm.
Our slate of new board members will ratified at tonight’s meeting.

Over the past year I have spoken personally to many of you about getting involved with the Austin AITP. There are many ways to server and get involved.

We are always looking for individuals to present on current topics of interest to the IT industry

AITP-Austin's goal is to build awareness of this program to communities andschools as well as encourage our own AITP-Austin membership to participate.. AITP-Austin has been working to foster online safety education utilizing the certified iSAFE program. iSAFE is the leader inInternet safety education. Founded in 1998 and endorsed by the U.S. Congress, i-SAFE is a non-profit foundation dedicated to protecting the online experiences of youth everywhere. i-SAFE incorporates classroom curriculum with dynamic communityoutreach to empower students, teachers, parents, law enforcement, and concerned adults to make the Internet a safer place.
